My dad had horses for as long as I can remember. He started off breeding Part Arabs and Palominos on his small property on the outskirts of Brisbane.

In the early seventies he was introduced to the Quarter Horse and purchased a handful of broodmares. It was around this time I started showing an interest in horses. It got to a stage where every school holiday I was off somewhere either staying with trainers or going to workshops.

Every weekend was spent helping my dad break in his horses or going off to some show somewhere. Later on my dad started a western riding ranch and I spent a good ten hours a day taking people out on guided trail rides.

After I left school I found my way into the Film and Television industry. And have enjoyed a relatively successful career as an Editor, working on many international award winning productions. My work took me to Sydney and London thus making it impossible to maintain my interest in horses.

I bought my first stills camera in the early eighties and have been clicking ever since. After returning to Brisbane in 1993 I have completed a number of short courses in Photography and am always looking at ways at developing my skills as a photographer.
